A roadmap for a Business Analysis Center of Excellence (BA CoE)

The diagram above captures, in one page, the roadmap created for Chrysler Group's team of Business Analysts. This was among the results of team meetings to create a Center of Excellence for the Business Analysts. The effort required gaining confidence and enthusiasm of participants, and generating a plan for what would define and constitute the CoE. I gathered and facilitated ideas and brought them togehter in a charter that described the following, this was a group effort and reflects ideas and wishes by all the participants.
* the purpose - to raise the level and expectation of performance by the BA's, to pursue certification fo CBAP through IIBA, to communicate to the larger organziation what services the BA's provide
* the objectives - a sense of team and cross functionality among the BA's, transparent communication about live projects, a centralized source of knowledge and information, improved relationships with internal customers through efforts to build relationships, improved requirements and delivery processes
* the results - a strong team of BA's, clearer communication, professional enrichment of individuals who were supported in their effort to pursue CBAP, a sense of pride, opportunities
